The seed
Basil, coriander, dill, parsley, chervil, chives, marjoram and rosemary. All open-pollinated. The rosemary packet says plainly that it is slow and erratic from seed and that a cutting is easier, because that is true.
Sowing
Coriander and dill resent transplanting — sow them where they are to grow. Basil wants warmth more than light early on. The packets carry proper sowing depths rather than the phrase 'sow thinly'.
